***Review Tour***
What If by A.J. Pine
If Only #2

Sometimes it takes letting go of the past to find out who you want to be.

During his semester abroad, Griffin Reed almost gave his heart to a girl who loved someone else. Lesson learned. Now he’s home, where following in his father’s footsteps may not be what he wants, but it’s what his parents expect. It might be taking the easy road, but he doesn’t see a way out.

Something that could have killed Maggie Kendall took away the person she used to be instead. Her condition makes her dependent on sticky notes, photos, and medication just to get through each day. The last thing she needs is a distraction—or someone new to disappoint.

What they refuse to see is they are perfect for each other. Maggie makes Griffin want to be a better man, and he makes her believe a future is possible. But these two have to find a way to share the secrets ripping them apart, if they’re ever going to have a chance at happiness.

My Review
4 Warm Fuzzy Stars

What if by AJ Pine is book #2 in the If Only Series. This is the first book I have read by this author and I was lucky enough to have been gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review so here goes....

I procrastinated on starting this book, I'm not sure why but it just took me ages to open it and get going.

I now wished I'd have started it earlier because it's just sooo lovely!!!

Obviously it's nearly Christmas and this book totally put me in a warm and fuzzy holiday mood.

Griffin is such a sweetie he's a broken hearted boy who’s playing at being a bad boy. Right up to the moment he meets Maggie and then he is literally hook, line and sinker for her.

I love Maggie she's such an endearing character that pulls you in and makes you want to go all maternal lol.

I actually loved how this book dealt with Maggie's health issues, AJ Pine really reflected her struggles but not in a condescending way. Maggie's confusion and memory loss was so well written I felt like I understood how she felt.

This book will make you smile, it's not all hearts and flowers but it's nice enough to be what I would class as smiley love. I guarantee that by the last page you will be grinning like the Cheshire Cat there may even be a prolonged arrrrr in there too lol!

There's definitely a sexual connection between Maggie and Griffin but it's secondary to the emotional one. It's so lovely to see a romance that is genuinely romantic.

OMG what he does at the end with the pictures is just adorable!!!

I really enjoyed this book, it's not so heavy it makes you cry but it's much better than a fluff romance with no substance.

What If gets 4 stars from me.

About the Author

AJ Pine writes stories to break readers’ hearts, but don’t worry—she’ll mend them with a happily ever after. As an English teacher and a librarian, AJ has always surrounded herself with books. All her favorites have one big commonality–romance. Naturally, her books have the same. When she’s not writing, she’s of course reading. Then there’s online shopping (everything from groceries to shoes) and, of course, a tiny bit of TV where she nourishes her undying love of vampires, from Eric Northman to the Salvatore brothers. And in the midst of all of this, you’ll also find her hanging with her family in the Chicago burbs.
AJ's debut New Adult novel, IF ONLY, is out now with Entangled's Embrace line. The companion novel, WHAT IF, releases December 8th. Next year look for her new duo of New Adult books, ONE NIGHT and ONE LIFE with Penguin/Intermix.
